North Carolina Income Tax Forms

North Carolina state income tax forms for both the 2023 and previous tax years are available. While you can prepare your current North Carolina income tax return, you must e-file it in conjunction with your federal income tax return. This is due to a requirement that the IRS and the state of North Carolina share tax information.

• You can however only prepare a NC state return on eFile.com but you would have to mail it to the state from your account; details on how to only prepare and print a North Carolina tax return.

Once finished, simply download, print, sign, and mail the forms to the North Carolina Department of Revenue. Remember, you may also need to file previous year IRS tax return forms in addition to your state return.
