Taxes are a planning and balancing act. You need to ensure that you accurately calculate your tax liabilities and deductions. Using tax calculators and estimators helps you forecast your tax obligations and potential refunds, enabling informed financial decisions and minimizing surprises during tax season.
Here are tax calculators and forms for current, previous, and future tax years. To help you make important financial and tax planning decisions, we recommend estimating the taxes you might owe or your expected tax refund throughout the year. Another aspect of tax planning is adjusting your tax withholding using one or more of these four free W-4 Calculators.
Prepare your taxes with eFile.com and get the most out of your next tax refund. If you miss the April 15 Tax Deadline, then you have until October to e-file your return.
How to Plan Using Tax Tools?
Before you make decisions on how to finance important purchases (e.g., car or home purchases, home mortgage refinancing, student loan applications), use one of the free tax calculator and estimating tools. The eFile.com tax calculator is based on the IRS 1040 federal income tax forms, making it applicable to users of all these forms. The Form 1040 is the first page of a federal tax return.
The tax calculator looks like a regular IRS income tax form and lets you enter your actual or estimated income, dependent(s), tax deduction(s), and tax credit information. There is no need to enter sensitive, personal information such as your name or Social Security number.
Avoid surprises: Use this 2023 year tax calculator:

The eFile.com tax calculator is a self-educator tool for your independent assistance. This tax software tool is based on tax year related IRS published tax income rates and tax tables. It uses this data to show you how your federal income taxes might be affected should your taxable income or tax bracket change. It also helps you anticipate or plan for other finance-changing events, such as a new job, marriage or divorce, home purchase or improvement, additional education, mortgage refinancing, additional dependents or children, and so on.
Tax Tip: See a high-level overview of many different tax deductions that might save you money or even increase your tax refund! Additionally, find ways to save money during the year or save directly on taxes.

2023 Tax Year
April 15 next year
Note: The remaining calculators, brackets, and forms are here for information purposes as you can no longer file or e-file and claim a refund for them. If you owe taxes for these years, you will want to file as soon as possible. You can amend a return, and claim a refund if there has been less than 3 years since the due date of the tax return. If 3 years have passed, you will not receive a refund even if you were owed one. Even if three years have passed, file an amended return as soon as possible if you haven't already. Tax Years 2014 and earlier do not have calculators, but have a collection of forms and tax rates.
Overdue Tax Returns
The remaining tax years have since expired and you can no longer claim refunds for them. If you owe taxes, file your return as soon as possible; use the resources to estimate and file your previous year return.
