Problem: The sum of all Form W-2Gs for gambling winnings amounts must be less than or equal to at least one of the following: the sum of all Schedule C (Form 1040) for your total gross receipts or Schedule 1 (Form 1040) for Gambling winnings amount.
Solution: Sign into your eFile account and click on Federal Taxes → Review → I'd like to see the forms I've filled out or search for a form → see your applicable gambling forms, including Form W-2G and the Itemized Deductions—Miscellaneous Deductions form. Go over the entries made to be sure they are accurate; this IRS rejection indicates that you have entered winnings that are lower than your income, typically due to a mis-entry for deductible losses. This may be an extra zero or cents was included by mistake. You should only include whole dollar amounts.
Once you have found the error and the necessary correction has been made, click File and go through the checkout and e-file process to re-efile your return at no additional charge.
