Problem: The State of Hawaii—not eFile.com—has rejected your return, as the Tax Period Begin Date can not be greater than the Tax Period End Date for Part-Year filer(s) who were residents of HI for the period in question.
Solution: Please sign in to your eFile.com account now and click on State Taxes in the upper left and review the IRS message on the right.
1. Sign in: https://mytaxes.efile.com/1040/SignIn/
2. Click on State Taxes on the left and click on I'd like to see the forms I've filled out on the right. Select Hawaii and the Hawaii tax form. At the very top you will see Dates for Part-year filers, the beginning date can not be greater than the end date. Make the change and re-efile again at no charge.
