Problem: The State of Illinois—not eFile.com—rejected your return because the IL Tax Return data you entered does not match that data the IL database shows (names, SSN, Signature, etc.)
Solution: Sign into your eFile.com account, click State Taxes on the left side and then the link → I'd like to see all my state forms. Go through your State Tax Forms and make sure the data there matches that of the IL Driver's license data on file.
Your Illinois PIN is a number assigned to you by the state of IL for electronic filing of your return. You must have this number in order to e-file with the state of Illinois.
The IL drivers license information provided as your Illinois Electronic Signature did not match what is on record with the Illinois Department of Motor Vehicles.
Make sure your entries match exactly what is printed on your Illinois drivers license.
Select the State Section from the left menu and take the following steps:
Select Edit
Select Enter Myself
Select E-filing Information
Select "I have e-filed less than three years worth of tax returns with Illinois."
Make the appropriate updates and click Continue until you exit the state return to save the updated information.
Resubmit your Illinois return through eFile.com at no charge.
Complete this form and re-efile your federal and state returns at no additional charge. Note: If IL is not accepting returns yet, please wait and re-eFile later.
