Problem: The IRS—not eFile.com—rejected your return because your spouse's date of birth doesn't match the IRS records.
Solution: Sign into your eFile.com account, click on Name and Address on the left side of your account screen, and review your spouse's date of birth. If it's incorrect, correct it and save your changes. Then, cilck File on the right side of your account screen and follow all the on-screen prompts to re-eFile your federal and/or state returns at no additional charge.
However, if you entered it correctly, you need to print your return(s) from your account, sign it, and mail the return(s) to the IRS and/or state tax agency. Contact Social Security and see if the issue with the birth date is with them, as they are responsible for providing this data to the IRS: Social Security Administration. You should also call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 and ask about your spouse's birth date.
