Problem: The IRS—not eFile.com—rejected your Federal Tax Return because the IRS eFile database indicates a First-Time Homebuyer Installment Payment is due for the Spouse Social Security Number (SSN).
Solution: Sign into your eFile.com account and review the First-Time Homebuyer installment payment entry. Include an amount on Schedule 2 and add Form 5405 if required. As soon as you sign in, these links should bring you right to the forms. Otherwise, click on Review on the left side and search for Federal Forms on the right.
Once you have corrected this, continue with your re-eFile process. You can re-eFile your return at no additional charge.
